European championship F5J - Abbeville (FRA)

The Belgian Team at the 2026 European championship F5J 2026; from l. to r. : Stefaan De Hauwere, André Lenaerts and Chris Gyssens
Belgian team consisting of André Lenaets, Chris Gyssens and Stefaan De Hauwere accomplished a demanding task and finished at position 7, among 25 countries, of the team classification of the European Championship F5J in Abbeville (France). A 7 days marathon in sometimes appealing conditions : much wind and frequent rain showers.
Chris Gyssens reported :
Yes, it was a difficult championship with a lot of wind and rain. With a little more luck we had two chances to get to the final. Andre had mistakenly turned off his motor at a height of 15 meters instead of climbing at full engine strength. With me there was a problem with a cable of a lipo that was coming loose and with it my range has disappeared. And Stefaan was doing very well but you can sometimes choose the wrong side and not finish the 10 minutes. But with a 7th place out of 25 countries we can be proud of our championship. Tomorrow 4 final flights for the first 14 pilots, and 4 rounds for the 10 best juniors.
