Belgian Championship F3B 2008

File Villers-la-Loue - 13 avril
Weather conditions were difficult : rain forecast for the whole day deterred many participants to travel to the Gaume. Only 7 participants showed up. Local pilot Frederic Belche took care of all practical aspects. CD was Paulette Halleux. One round was flown in the morning, then rain too over. A second round could be flown starting around 3.30 PM. A few models suffered from water penetration and could not finish the day. First contest for Sacha Monnom, from the Hand-launch community. He took fourth place with a V-Ultra, former W.Ch. in the hands of Reinhard Liese. Well done, Sacha !

The contest took place under a sunny sky without any cloud. Nevertheless it was rather windy. The contest was well attended with 15 competitors.

The field of the Model Club Chaufour is like a green park. That is a very nice environment. Camping, barbecue, everything was done by the club to welcome the pilots and the helpers. 12 pilots participated to the contest. The results were rather unusual but what a stimulation. The weather was better than expected. Cloudy in the morning but sunny in the afternoon.

We had a very good surprise with the weather. After 2 days pouring cats and dogs, it was finally sunny but a little bit cold. Jean-Louis from VDP3F had organized the contest with the help of the CRPAL, I took the direction of the contest and Robert the calculation of the scores. The contest ran smoothly.
File Hemptinne-lez-Florennes, 12th October
The contest originally foreseen on October 5th had to be postponed one week later due to the terrible weather. It was raining cats and dogs and the wind blew sometimes more than at 12m/sec. On October 12th the weather was perfect : sunny, weak wind. The field, new for the competitors, was well designed, the hosts , the club Exocet-Hemptinne, kind and generous.The only problem concerned the lines that were cut very often.
